History of the Club

The Rotaract Club of Lotus College of Optometry was chartered on 1st January 2015, with a mission to cultivate leadership and community service among its members. Under the pioneering leadership of its Charter President, Rtr. Aastha Parekh, who now serves as the Immediate Past District Rotaract Representative (IPDRR), the club rapidly gained recognition for its impactful projects and dedication to service. PHF Rtr. Aastha Parekh’s visionary guidance played a crucial role in shaping the club’s direction and setting a high standard for future initiatives.

 
The club, with its theme “I care for Eye care,” is focused on raising awareness about the optometry profession and promoting eye care. Over the years, the Rotaract Club of Lotus College of Optometry has consistently demonstrated its commitment to making a positive difference in the community through a diverse range of activities, including health and educational outreach, environmental conservation, workshops, fundraising, and camps. These initiatives not only reflect the club’s dedication to service but also empower its members to contribute meaningfully to society.

Rotaract Worldwide

Rotaract is a global movement that connects young professionals and students through a shared commitment to community service and personal development. Established by Rotary International, Rotaract clubs are active in over 200 countries, comprising thousands of clubs and tens of thousands of members worldwide. These clubs work on a wide range of projects, from local community improvement initiatives to international humanitarian efforts. This global presence allows Rotaract to address diverse issues, fostering collaboration and innovation across different cultures and regions.

In Rotary International District 3141, the District Governor (DG) is Rtn. Chetan Desai, who provides strategic leadership and direction for the district’s activities and projects. Rtn. Desai’s role involves guiding the district’s initiatives, supporting club development, and representing the district within the larger Rotary framework. His leadership is crucial in ensuring that the district aligns with Rotary’s global goals while addressing local needs effectively.
 
The District Rotaract Representative (DRR) is Rtn. Rtr. Adv. Nikhita Sunil. As DRR, Rtn. Rtr. Adv. Nikhita is responsible for bridging the gap between Rotaract clubs and the Rotary framework. Her duties include coordinating Rotaract activities, fostering communication among clubs, and ensuring that Rotaract initiatives are aligned with Rotary International’s objectives. Her role is essential in promoting Rotaract’s impact within the district and facilitating collaboration between Rotaract members and Rotary clubs.
